What will we find in the woods?
This Term we are learning all aMedium Term Planbout the woods and what we might find there.
English - In English we will be looking at the story 'The Gruffalo'. We will be acting the story out using role play and then using story maps to re tell parts of the story. We will then look at writing a character description of the Gruffalo and then moving on to create our own mysterious woodland creature to describe.
Maths - This Term our focus is place value. We will begin the term looking at counting and ordering numbers to 10. Then moving on to comparing numbers within 10.
Geography - This terms topic focus will look at maps and compasses the children will be creating their own maps and using compasses to describe their locations.
Art - This Terms topic will focus on using natural materials to create art. The children will gather natural materials and use these to create portraits of themselves.
Science - In Science this Term we will continue to observe seasonal changes and discuss this. We will also begin looking at animals including humans.
